The Madness of God-King Donald

I still hang out on Twitter sometimes. Right now there are people losing their minds over Greta Gerwig’s forthcoming Narnia movie, which will feature Meryl Streep as the voice of Aslan.

Not really the way I envisioned Aslan, but I’m fine with it. Gerwig clearly has a vision she wants to explore, and I’d rather have a unique vision than a generic fantasy that takes no chances.

That’s not really want I want to talk about today.

I want to talk about this…

…and this.

In the first, Donald Trump’s attack account thanks him personally for no hurricans in the Atlantic in August.

In the second, the official White House account thanks Trump for Wendy’s changing its French fries container.

Donald Trump had fuck all to do with either of these.

He’s not a god-king with powers over the weather. Wendy’s is not his personal fiefdom where he can make decrees about the color of French fry boxes.

He personally did nothing to deserve thanks in either case, and it’s utter madness that Twitter accounts of his political operating are fellating him so for these things.

This is madness.
