On Tonight's Boston Legal

The best episode of Boston Legal yet.

Tonight took Alan Shore to Texas to take up a death penalty case. As the episode unfolded, as Shore made his appeal to the Texas High Court, as the inmate headed to receive the lethal injection, the laissez-faire attitude of previous episodes all but evaporated. This was a serious episode, one that wouldn’t have been out of place on the deathly serious The Practice. Alan Shore can be a frivolous character, but this was one time when he wasn’t–the first time, really, since the Patrick Dempsey trial last season on The Practice.

I’m not sure when the next episode will air. Next Sunday ABC will debut Grey’s Anatomy in the 10 o’clock timeslot. Still, this was a fantastic outing for Boston Legal.
