On Commander Cody

Playing LEGO Star Wars the other day I had to complete a mission and hunt down General Grievous with Obi-Wan and his partner.

A clone trooper, named Commander Cody.

My friend Todd complained about the character for having a dorky name on his LiveJournal today. Sure, it’s a dorky name. Sure, it doesn’t sound like it belongs a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. It sounds, well, pulpish, like something out of an old movie serial. Probably is from an old movie serial.

Frankly, I think it’s a pretty cool name. I like saying it in a pinched, high-pitched voice. “Commander Cody! Commander Cody!”

He can’t jump for crap, and he’s a terrible shot with that blaster of his. You have to wonder what Obi-Wan thought Commander Cody would bring to the search for Grievous. Of course, General Grievous kills him and he breaks into a bunch of little LEGO pieces.

I guess that means that he’ll be hacked into DUPLO blocks in Revenge of the Sith. 🙂

Commander Cody! Commander Cody!
