Freema Agyeman, better known to Doctor Who fans as Martha Jones, has been cast in Law & Order: London as one of the prosecutors. My interest in this show has just increased a dozen-fold. 🙂
On Relaxing, Post-Shore Leave
I. Am. Tired. A fuller post-mortem will come likely tomorrow or Tuesday, but for the nonce, a good time was had at Shore Leave. I did some panels. I signed some books. I bought a tee-shirt. I didn’t need the tee, but when I saw it, I knew I had to have it. Horton HearsContinue reading “On Relaxing, Post-Shore Leave”
On Why I Love Shore Leave
You want to know what makes Shore Leave worth it? You want to know what brings me back, year after year? The Belgian waffles. The made-to-order omelettes. 🙂 Be back soon!
On Questions From the Floor
After musing the other day about the “Eliza” program, and whether or not people where going to their favorite search engine and asking it questions to have a conversation, I decided to take a look at my own search logs and see if I had search questions, rather than search phrases. Here’s some of whatContinue reading “On Questions From the Floor”
On Lugging Around Metal
Sometimes the change machine at the subway terminal drives me crazy. This was one of those days. About once a week I’ll use a twenty dollar bill in the machine. The change comes back as dollar coins. On The Sword in the Stone
A few weeks ago Disney released the 45th-anniversary edition of The Sword in the Stone, the animated adaptation of the first volume in T.H. White’s The Once and Future King Arthurian quadrilogy, on DVD. I’d been meaning to buy the movie for years because I have fond memories of it from my youth, but hadContinue reading “On The Sword in the Stone”
On the Tuesday Feeling
I woke this morning… …and had no idea what day it was. The idea that today was Tuesday was simple inconceivable to me. I don’t know what day I thought it was, but Tuesday it was not. Could it be that I got up with the alarm, rather than hit the Snooze button the two,Continue reading “On the Tuesday Feeling”
On “Journey’s End” and My Daft Theories
So, now I’ve seen it. Doctor Who. “Journey’s End.” Last week I posted some theories. “The Stolen Earth,” the fourth season’s penultimate episode, posed a number of questions, and suggested certain possibilities, and I offered my thoughts on what everything meant, and where “Journey’s End” would likely go. Much to my surprise, Jamie McCrimmon didContinue reading “On “Journey’s End” and My Daft Theories”
