I visited my parents for Father’s Day. I’d been down to Lynchburg in May, I think the weekend before Mother’s Day, but my mom had been agitating me to come for a visit, and my sister was planning on coming up from Raleigh. I didn’t commit to anything — the weather looked a bit dreadful, with rain, rain, and more rain — and I got off to a later start than I normally would have because of it.
The view from Afton Mountain on Saturday was lovely.
Roads go ever, ever on…
Sunday morning, a deer decided to inspect my Beetle. Maybe he liked the fine German engineering?
The trip home Sunday afternoon was, as I feared, rain, rain, and more rain. It started around Lovingston, and carried on, with a few breaks, all the way home.
