The day after Thanksgiving. They call it Black Friday.
Christmas is thirty days away. Twenty-nine shopping days. Four weeks.
I made out today my schedule for the next two weeks. Next week is definitely a sixty-hour work week. The following week looks to be about the same. I may have a day off–my first since yesterday–during the week of December 12th.
No, that’s not normal. I won’t even complain–it would achieve nothing and my staff might take away the wrong message. It’s just the reality of the situation–retail management in December.
If there’s an upshot, it’s that my Christmas shopping is largely complete. Small favors, right?
