My most recent discovery, William Henry Gardner, the first cousin of my grandfather. Like many of his cousins, William was much older (in this case, twenty-four years). William was the son of Maurice Gardner, one of my great-grandfather’s older brothers. William is buried with his wife and her first husband (hence, the Lingan headstone). William could have been named for Maurice’s father William or half-brother William Gardner, and Henry may come from Maurice’s half-brother Henry Hardy.
