More on Writing Letters

Today, Christmas Day, the Raleigh News & Observer published my letter on the President’s illegal domestic spying program. Color me happy. 🙂

Among the other letters published in today’s paper I do like this quote from Randy Balot: “We are fighting a two-front war. In the Middle East are the Islamofascists. In the United States are the liberal anti-Bush fascists. It’s hard to determine which is a greater danger to national security.” I wonder if Mr. Balot realizes that a “liberal… fascist” is a contradiction in terms; fascism defined is “a system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism,” which describes, in very broad terms, the policies of the current Administration.

Now that I’ve published my angry letter I wonder when the black vans will take up residence outside my house. 😉
