I have a needy cat in my lap. Woody hasn’t done this in a while. He came up to the desk, jumped into my lap, made himself at home with a bath, and promptly passed out. He’s in the way. Typing is difficult. Needy! Needy! Needy! I think I may shove the Woodrow out ofContinue reading “On a Needy Cat”

On Hall Passes
President Bush visits the United Nations to give a speech about world peace. He passes Secretary of State Condi Rice a note. Could Bush’s words change the course of history? Of course not. President Bush needs a potty break. If there’s anything that encapsulates Bush’s disconnect from the office that he holds, it’s the actContinue reading “On Hall Passes”
On the Xbox 360 Release
November 22nd. That is the day Microsoft’s XBox 360 will hit stores. Mark your calendars! 🙂
On the Current Layout
The webpage looks different. The webpage looks a lot different. I’m trying something out live to see if it works. We’ll be back to geekdom heaven in a few days, once I’m sure I’ve got all the bugs in the style sheets and other sundry files worked out. Truth to tell, I do like theContinue reading “On the Current Layout”
On the Real President Bush
I had to share this: Bush is in fact fidgety, cold and snappish in private. He yells at those who dare give him bad news and is therefore not surprisingly surrounded by an echo chamber of terrified sycophants. He is slow to comprehend concepts that don’t emerge from his gut. He is uncomprehending of theContinue reading “On the Real President Bush”
On a PlayStation 2 Problem
I have a slim-line PlayStation 2. The original model of the PlayStation 2, released in 2000, was supplanted with a newer, smaller, slimmer model in the fall of 2004, and I traded my old, clunky, big system in toward the small system when it released. Now, Sony has issued a recall on the slim PS2Continue reading “On a PlayStation 2 Problem”
More on the Coldplay Concert
As I mentioned yesterday, last night I attended the Coldplay concert here in Raleigh at Alltel Pavillion. I’ve been a fan of Coldplay for five years at least, and this was the first time I’d had the opportunity to see them live. Let’s get a few observations out of the way first. The crowd wasContinue reading “More on the Coldplay Concert”
On the Concert
Coldplay played Raleigh tonight. I was there. 🙂 Great concert. There were a few flubs along the way–“The Scientist” needed to be restarted–but Coldplay put on a magnificent show. The opening act, Rilo Kiley, didn’t impress at all. I’m tired. Will write more tomorrow.
On President Bush and "Failure"
It’s fairly well-known that doing an internet search on the term “miserable failure” turns up President Bush’s on-line official White House biography. You can now shorten that search to just “failure”. Why be surprised?
On Grand Theft Auto: The Less Naughty Version
I am asked almost daily, “When’s the cleaned-up version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas coming out?” Next week, as it turns out. It seems that we’re the only retailer still carrying the Adults-Only rated version of the game. Our competitors all pulled it, sometimes hypocritically, based on the merchandise they sell. But for thoseContinue reading “On Grand Theft Auto: The Less Naughty Version”
