I was looking at Michael Jan Friedman’s Star Trek: The Next Generation novel Reunion for the first time in many years and noticed something.
Morgen of Daa’V, who had served with Picard aboard the Stargazer, also
served as Captain of the USS Excalibur.
It’s clear how this fits with Star Trek: New Frontier.
Morgen stepped down as Captain of the Excalibur to take his hereditary role as leader of his people. Then, the events of Vendetta take place, and Captain Korsmo’s USS Chekov is trashed by the Borg. Korsmo then takes command of the Excalibur, and serves as her commander until his death during Star Trek: First Contact.
And we know the story from there. 🙂
